Response to Feedback from Reading Week Sessions - Verity and Claire.. in addition to Jen's comments :)

I was in uni today and I had a look at the video projected onto the tv screen - it didn't look bad - but the projection actually looked much better huge and high up on the back wall..I had an idea about 5 projectors, projecting our individual torsos and faces quite large onto this back wall (opposite the mezzanine.) We could be reciting text - speaking - singing - slurring - showing emotions - silent - looking at one another - looking 'down' on the audience...as if we are ghosts.. large images are really powerful..I think we could use the boiler room in a similar way to the room in the library...In the way that we give every member of the audience an instruction...but also they walk in to the boiler room and have to often look UP.So we could have 5 projections onto the main wall, maybe an installation on the ground floor(e.g the tv switched on but only with white noise) and maybe we perform to them together live from the mezzanine bit (behind the barrier)...and maybe down the golden staircase!(the stairway to heaven!)just thought what if we could mysteriously make the tv fall of its table - like a poltergeist!Have a look at this -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaQhdOrF-EIAnyway - maybe in preparation for wednesday we should all create 2-3 mins of text to recite or a facial score of some sort to perform to the camera. ( and a coloured and a dark jumper to wear - i like hoods - i think they're also a very powerful image - or even just swathes of material - check this out - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Re4vVFqapY4&feature=related )I might not matter what we're actually saying - we could play videos on silent and do some live music stuff.. really vibratory.. like the voices of god!if the audience stand on the ground floor looking up - its as if they're in some kind of pit..**What struck me about last sessions video is that we all look like sorcerers!! in on some act - casting a spell!! Each in a different way..

I like like likes..Have a thought - I had suggested - and I don't know whether you were there or not now ?.. a big cylorama thing that stretches partly onto the ceiling and also surrounds the audience. I too think that at least one part of our piece is taken up with a similar activity to the library session. More than anything because Jen seemed to indicate that the audience perhaps need to be featured ie the piece becomes THEIR liminal work and THEY must therefore experience this. So maybe an immersive atmosphere would aid this. Again I must reference dumbtype as a company who work with large digital elements, and of course, da body! And split screen is always a fav, and something we mentioned waaay back in week one. So would be good to give it a bash! And by the way, i think we could def use this as a transition section - either to reference turner or literally as passing into another section of the piece. exciting stuff.

OH IVE JUST REMEMBERED! OR.. the last piece is for OPERATING ROOM i think.. and was inspired by the death of the director's mother.. and THE TRANSITION BETWEEN HER LIVING BODY AND DIGITAL ASPECTS ie heart machines DICTATING AND DETERMINING THAT SHE HAD DIED. IM ALL EXCITED!
