15.11.09 IDEAS

Hi guys, some thoughts in relation to latest uploading plus some other ideas…

MOVING BODIES 2 ALBUM: draw attention to the different parts of the body: feet, head, hands, legs, arms, tension in shoulders / legs/ arms; how the body is balanced despite of the awkward positions you’ve turned it in; space composition that is how the bodies are placed in relation to each other, what kind of images are they drawing, what kind of stories are they telling.
my suggestion is to re-recreate some of those positions, the most interesting ones, and to put them together to form a narrative as we did in our first class with Jen (human/no human). perhaps we could place the movements against the rhythm of a kletzmer melody and together with the projection on the tele we could have our scratch for thursday?

MOVING BODIES 3 ALBUM: the first three images connect with our three different initial ideas of somehow covering the face, remember? they are there just as another way of getting inspired.
the last pictures are only a reminder of how well things could work in the space (visually speaking) with little… and also… the importance of lights (to appreciate light better check the short video of maddy’s performance through the youtube link, please).
I’ve tried for ages to scan the scripts to add it to the blog but it seems my scanner is not working. if any of you have a scanner do you mind to upload it, please? cheers! that relates to an idea for working with voice that goes below.
ok guys… that’s all for now.
let’s keep in touch,
xx

IMAGES:
-if we don’t do a soil curtain… we could have a sticks’ curtain instead (metaphor for metal bars) hanging from the roof

-somebody trying to get free through the curtain: body movements: concern, struggle, force, agitation… impossibility

-while walking to leave trails of soil on the floor, drawing a pattern? at one point to get a bit of soil inside the mouth (without letting audience seeing it), and then spit it (not facing audience of course!, spit it on a side): revenge? a sign of freedom?

-have soil on the floor and mix it with water to create mud. apply it to (some?) parts of the body and to remain still in a predetermined position allowing for the mud to become hard. after a while to get rid of chunks of dried mud: revenge? a sign of freedom?

VOICE
-(voice 1, serious tone) ‘you are protected by law’
-(chorus with a litany feeling -or voice 2) let’s work in peace…

-(voice 1, serious tone) ‘you are protected by law’
-(chorus with a litany feeling -or voice 2) let’s get ill in peace…

-(voice 1, serious tone) stop thinking you are not like this, you don’t have that, you can’t this, you won’t achieve that
-(chorus with a litany feeling -or voice 2) ‘we are all equal in death’
